Sacred Knowledge Trust is an independent and non-profit Zawiya based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, England. We were proudly opened in 2009 by Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, the highly revered gnostic.
Our vision is simple - enriched enlightenment for the community. The purpose of our Zawiya and site is to educate and to bring people closer to Allah, our Lord and Creator. We wish to enlighten, to share, to enthuse, and to unite people from diverse surroundings, ethnicities, and regions, all for the sake and pleasure of Allah Almighty. The goal is clear, and the intention is firm.
This will inshAllah be achieved through versatile courses, activities, programmes and services. Where we aim to engage the local and wider brotherhood in activities of a spiritual, societal, educational, and artistic kind to bring the 'joie de vivre' to the community.
Sacred Knowledge Trust welcomes this challenge and is committed to supporting achievement and success through partnership and innovation.
Our intention is to provide platforms by which the Prophetic legacy is brought to life in order for participants, listeners and readers to find them transformative. It is hoped, insha'Allah, that people from all walks of life are inspired to emulate the beautiful character of our beloved Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and his way of living (the Sunna), while adhering firmly to the principles of the people of the Prophetic way and vast majority of Muslims for over 1000 years.
Sacred Knowledge Trust aims to encourage the following the way of the ‘Ulama, with primary focus on knowledge combined with practice (‘Ilm and ‘Amal) through studying with traditional scholars, those who embody and reflect the Prophetic light as stated in a Prophetic narration, “the scholars are the heirs of the Prophets”. By taking these living heirs as examples and connecting ourselves to their unbroken chains of transmission back to the original Prophetic source, a closeness to the Sunna is established which resonates and affects. This is achieved by The Shadhili Tariqa.
May Allah accept from those that bring love and mercy to this grand banquet of knowledge and spiritual fraternity and may He guide all that come across it to join in with a good word, and if not, then at least with a beautiful supplication (dua) for those that browse its pages, contribute to its growth, and provide for its maintenance.
Success is from Allah and Allah alone.
